You can join our team of Residents, Property Owners and Business Owners to help implement the Main Streets four key elements: Design, Organization, Economic Restructuring and Promotions by participating on one of these committees or on special projects.
Economic Restructuring (ER) Committee
Purpose: To strengthen the existing business
base while at the same time actively recruiting new businesses
and encouraging business expansion. (click

As a small business owner who works primarily from my home and as a resident of Hyde Park, I appreciate the newsletters, networking breakfasts and other special events sponsored by HPMS. They help me stay connected to other local business owners and the community as well as being a resource of valuable business information. I hope to become more involved as time allows.

Promotions Committee
Purpose: To market a unified, quality image true
to Hyde Park Main Streets’ district by assisting existing
programs and developing a limited number of new ones designed
to attract residents and maintain positive attitudes.

I enjoy being a volunteer, whether its for my kids' schools or for HPMS, because I want to help out and make a difference. However, by being a member of the Promotion Committee, I considered it as a way for me to connect with my neighborhood and it's a personal "investment" because I live here.

Design Committee

Purpose: To administer and guide the Storefront Improvement
Grant Program, establishing cooperative partnerships with
property and business owners participating in the Program
and advocate a cohesive approach to building improvements
through our local design guidelines. (click

"Serving on the Design Committee gives me the opportunity to have direct input on the appearance of the streetscape of Hyde Park. What is interesting for me is the mix of commercial design and public art that we deal with. But it's not just meetings and talk: we do some hands-on projects as well."

Projects & Other Ways to Help
Purpose: To lend a helping hand for different
kinds of projects ranging from the Annual Clean-Up Day with
your neighbors in Hyde Park, distributing “Shopping
on Main Streets” bags at the Anderson Tree Lighting
or preparing mailings and archiving news clippings in your
home. (click here for more)
“I was a new home owner in Hyde Park when I encountered Hyde Park Main Streets. Volunteering provided a great opportunity for me to learn about the community that I was laying down roots in. My service on the Promotions Committee, allowed me to make meaningful contributions. For example, my whole family has participated in our semi-annual clean up projects and it helps us to feel like we are providing positive contributions to our town.”
