ETC Baking class
ETC is calling all of Santa’s little helpers to the kitchen this holiday season, with a culinary class just for the young’uns at Essence of Thyme Gift Shop and Cafe. Come for a cookie preparation and decoration class with instructor Bill Peterson. Mask required. Age 10+, kids must remain accompanied by an adult, especially young ones who would need to have the assistance of a parent. For kids with cooking experience, they can cook solo. Ticket also includes delicious hot chocolate to stay toasty.

By employing a simple approach you can learn to accurately portray still life objects and expand your ways of seeing and responding to your environment through art. One step beyond event for FB

Announcing our 12th “Master Class” event with One Step Beyond Martial Arts Training Center. Christine Dustman for FB - 2nd classIn celebration of spring and the onset of gardening season, Hyde Park landscape designer Christie Dustman will lead an experiential class on the fundamentals of planting design for homeowners. At home, participants gather small objects like buttons, cotton balls, macaroni, beads, etc. and use them to simulate plants in a planting design on a paper plan provided. This fun exercise probes the participant’s sense of design principles – and shows how plants are actually OBJECTS that get arranged in the garden. Attendees complete the exercise, then Christie debriefs what is learned by doing a critique of a few volunteers in the class. Powerpoint slides help to lock in what has been learned. A paper design plan will be available to be picked up in advance.  Registration has ended.

 

Switch eventFor April vacation, artist Sandrine Colson will show kids how to make a beautiful bracelet for mom or the loved ones in their lives. The bracelet kits will have all the items to make 1 of these 4 bracelets of your choice. Seasons Catering eventJoin us as we learn how to make a delicious steak & cheese calzone with owner Sheila Sullivan of Seasons Catering. This dish will be paired with a specialty mixed green salad and a homemade balsamic dressing. The meal kits ($32 each) will have all the ingredients, including cookie dough (complimentary by Sheila).
